  1. Be proactive - focus on what you can change
  2. Begin with the end in mind - or: “start with the why”, does purpose match what you’re doing (but visualize steps)
  3. Put first things first - “what we say” vs “what we do”, practice what you teach
  4. Think win-win - other’s don’t have to loose for you to progress/win
  5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood - provide value, don’t push unwanteds
  6. Synergize - fruitful collaboration
  7. Sharpen the saw - workout, read, deliberate practice
